Cathal Dowd, a musician from Killorglin, is launching his debut album “Friendly Shores” this year. As part of his tour of Ireland & the UK, Cathal is returning home to play in Sol y Sombra on Thursday, Oct 19th.
Cathal is a folk inspired musician who paints honest pictures of his life with an acoustic guitar and punchy vocals. His musical influences range from Paul Simon to Newton Faulkner, and he blends a unique open string tuning with thought provoking lyrics to create an exciting sound. One that welcomes you in with a cuddle and buys you a whiskey.
Cathal will be supported by Peter Njihia, an experimental guitarist from Killarney who uses unusual tunings and playing techniques to get a unique sound.
Entry is FREE and doors open at 21:00.
