Spanish wine today offers some of the best value, food friendly wine in the world. There has been a revolution in winemaking skills, and significant investment, since the days when it was Rioja or Rioja. There are many regions now making good wines, and the standard is much more consistent than before.

We have put together a choice of (mainly) Spanish wines for Sol y Sombra. Our guiding principles were to offer a range of really good, and affordable, wines to accompany food and good company. We wanted these to be available by the glass, and as with the food menu, to change the list regularly to give choice. In addition, there are some fine wines, which is our personal selection from Spain and elsewhere.

We have travelled to wineries and wine fairs throughout Spain and import a range of wines directly from La Rioja, La Mancha, Jumilla and Rueda. On occasion we invite the winemakers to Ireland to host wine tastings so order that our customers understand more about the wines, the regions and the story behind the labels.
